Bauxite Mining

Bauxite mining

begins with geological surveying and land preparation, where the topsoil and vegetation are carefully removed and stored for future land rehabilitation. Once the bauxite ore is exposed, large excavators, bulldozers, and drilling equipment are used in an open-pit mining process to extract the ore from the ground. The raw bauxite is then loaded into heavy haul trucks and transported to a crushing and screening plant, where the material is processed to remove impurities and achieve the required size and quality.

After processing, the bauxite is transferred by conveyor systems, rail, or trucks to stockpile areas and then moved to a port facility for export. At the export terminal, the bauxite is loaded onto barges or large cargo vessels and shipped internationally to alumina refineries, where it is further refined into alumina and eventually converted into aluminum products used in construction, transportation, aviation, electronics, and industrial manufacturing. Throughout the operation, environmental management and land reclamation programs are implemented to restore mined areas and support sustainable mining practices.
